President Obama proposes Energy Security Trust

From the 2013 State of the Union address:

“For the sake of our children and our future, we must do more to combat climate change”, President Obama said. “If Congress won't act soon to protect future generations, I will. I will direct my Cabinet to come up with executive actions we can take, now and in the future, to reduce pollution, prepare our communities for the consequences of climate change, and speed the transition to more sustainable sources of energy.”

President Obama added: “I propose we use some of our oil and gas revenues to fund an Energy Security Trust that will drive new research and technology to shift our cars and trucks off oil for good.”

President Obama at State of the Union address 2013, proposing an Energy Security Trust

  1. Two meteor one from the North hitting Russia another to sail harmlessly by. Greenhouse -Real.. What can be set in writing to undo past harm.
How can the imagination of youth be protected..
Where is the means to enact change and the leader we need who understands what is happening. Where is leadership now.

  2. Sign and Share the Petition to Build A Hydrogen Economy:

    1. Hydrogen can be used directly to produce electricity using fuel cell technology. In fact the human cell wall and that of all biology uses cell technology to convert energy and maintain on the whole a limited edition Earth upon which we live and together with Nature sustain a balance there.
Potential to create a living world that can sustain us is in dire danger..
We are the only agent of change capable of undoing a great harm to Earth..
Hydrogen Economy is synonymous with moving the needle on Extinction clock.
We either connect the dots and make prosperity and happiness by success or there won't be a reason to record history as Extinction of heat increases..

    2. Energy density of Battery technology was one of many items spoken of by the President in his State of the Union address. Geologically speaking looking back, if man can find a way past world extinction event upon us, that speech will be know as the State of temperature speech.. BTW..
He spoke of 2 things, discovery of ways to make a 10X increase in energy density of battery technology and an evident wish for clarity of priorities so business brings good jobs.
-amongst other things. However, liability and start up issues loom in the way of progress for little guys to make cool small scale cars and light weight aircraft and stuff. Not least are legal liability and safety issues favorable to largest guys not start ups. -The roads themselves and access to right of ways are held in check by code and the heavy auto industry; road pavement industry, oil fuel domination. From all appearances and experience I've had, the term plastic people in the US in the 60s and early 70s would fit well the world today. Now, since then in Vietnam War era, Earth health is a goner.
Since then, wealth concentration has steadily gathered among rich..
To get a Sea change going it will take change to fabric of world enterprise.
Some ideas are of use of light aircraft that don't use roads and of very low impact monorail technology for local public transportation.
I want to get changes going by stimulating thought here.. Pushing standardization where appropriate but encouraging at every opportunity leaving open technology helping rise of business beneficial to Earth alive.. Some places could see huge advancement of small scale power adoption instead of vast scale huge projects, Like what's going on in Sarawak on Borneo.. It's a race against time the likes of which the Universe has never seen -To keep Earth alive and we have a handicap going in that would make others shy..

  3. Very low impact monorail transport is likely to start up in Longmont, Colorado.
A Pod system suspended by supports placed in median of the main road to Boulder.
This can be up and running by 2016 realistically and will be first of its kind..
Electric use will be very low and I'm hopeful this will be quickly extended over the mountains to lets say Winter Park, Breckenridge and Vail. It will enable Longmont to get ground based public transportation besides busses and will dwarf Denver light rail in expansion rate very quickly and deservedly so because both Light Rail system (we have been supporting with taxes) and ancient heavy rail freight fail us.
But most importantly on demand pod transport integrated with internet access may be just what US transport and getting off reliance on fossil fuels needs.
The system proposed will use solar panels on guideways for power during the day and electricity from hydrogen fuel cells at night according to Longmont Times Call article of August 19th, 2013 titled "Monorail on the Diagonal?".
But after a meeting this Thursday where skyTran CEO R. Paul Williamson will inform the public of details of the project the question mark will be removed.
